All Party Parliamentary Group on Body Image
“Body image dissatisfaction has never been higher, particularly among young people. The pressure to conform to the impossible body ‘ideals’ we are bombarded with in advertising, magazines and on the catwalk is overwhelming and damaging.”
Jo Swinson, Chair of the APPG on Body Image in the foreword to the Reflections on Body Image report.
Between November 2011 and February 2012 the APPG on Body Image conducted a wide-ranging inquiry into the causes and consequences of body image anxiety. The report captures the evidence that was presented to the inquiry – including the evidence sessions held in Parliament, the responses to the public consultation and a number of briefings and academic papers.
